Slow Metal Ballad Backing Track
Hello Everyone,
I posted this track on Wholenote the other day but no one over there seems very interested.
I took the main part of this track from a jamcenter jam track and added 2 rythm guitar tracks to give it a little more depth and flavor.
It's a very simple Em-C chord progression and is pretty cool to jam to.
I'm looking forward to hearing what people do with it, i have my take on it in video form but it might be to big of a file to upload, We'll see.
If it is then I'll try to post a link to it.
Keep on Rockin', Mike

I've already uploaded it to my own website but since I can't post URL's yet I can't put up a link to it.

That's a huge file. Can you convert it to a wmv file? If you're on windows, you could try using Windows Movie Maker as described here - Video- Tears In Heaven (Incomplete) - Kush - not sure if you can import a mpeg, but you should be able to do it. 33MB is more than most people will want to download.

I'll work with it today and see if I can bring the size down, I think I can convert it to a divx .avi but then people will have to have the divx codec to view it. For me a 33mb file is not big and would only take 2 minutes to download but I can understand that some people are still using slow connections.
The mp3 rip I took directly from the video is posted so at least my take on this is up.

Alien that is a great backing track!
I saved it and although I can't use it now (only been playing a month or so) I'm a Metal fan at heart and do plan on using it for practice later on in my development!

Thanks man, glad you like it. I know there are alot of blues and jazz guys around here but it's nice to know there are a few rockers and metal heads too.
Keep on practicing and you'll be jamming to that track in no time, I'm looking forward to hearing you to.

My Video Take
Thanks Clancy, I used the Windows Movie Maker and got the file down to a little over 8MB's.
So here's my Video take on this, still hoping some other people take a shot at this one.
Keep on Rockin', Mike
Hey, It's not allowing me to upload it, I tried 3 times and each time I got a error message and it says contact the administrator.
I give up
Ok, I cut it down some more and it finally let me upload it.

I guess I was mistaken, I came over to this site from wholenote because they said that there were some guitar players here.
I guess they were wrong.
No one here is playing guitar, just some string pluckers and hot air blowers.

There are some incredible players over here, Alientheory ... I'm not quite sure why you thought we'd all hop to it and play over your track. It's coming up to Christmas, we're all busy, and the repetitious and -- pardon me for saying so -- fairly boring two chord sequence may not be to everyone's taste.
Tell us a little about how you played over the track in the movie ... I'm not sure if you're looking for feedback, but we always like to hear about approaches, mind sets, choice of scale, dynamics etc. over here.
Have a browse through this forum ... there are some wonderful tracks posted here by some very talented players; I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. We're a whole lot more than hot air.

Perhaps the boring fingerpickers and blues horse beaters arent to my liking and they also dont like my style either.
I'll find someplame where people are adventurous and play music.
A 2 chord melody might be boring but it's only boring to the mind that can't find something to play with it. Perhaps thats the root of the misunderstanding. I don't play other peoples music, I hear my own.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
