G Blues in 6/8

...............don't mean to drown you folks in sentimental blues. - However, this one builds very nicely...and very cool players on side. - I think there's eight choruses. - What do you say each person takes a chorus ? - I might add it's very friendly for guitarists just starting out.

This will be my final mp3 post re the ' Blues ' ......hope to hear a few takes !

Best wishes !

Burps

Thanks! Yeah, harp is me as well. It's a little off time because I had the mix to low in my phones, but what the heck. It's the blues!

Great playing RB ... absolutely nailed it!

Here's my slide version of this ... I went through my DigiTech, not the new amp, so it sounds a little nasal for my liking, but it wasn't a bad take so what the heck ...

  G Blues

.............absolutely brilliant Kirk ! - I sincerely believe your solo should be used as a model for - " How to build an exceptional/extended solo over a ' Blues in 6/8 ' - It reminded me of S.R.Vaughn's approach........???? - He never had a doubt where he was going with it...all ears...that beautiful zone.

I hope you take my suggestion seriously Kirk...that was a bitch of a take...hit the spot big time...up there with the very best of them in my view...for what it's worth.

R.B.'s was a gem also !!!

Best wishes

Burps

There is just no end to the talent in here .... Great takes both.

Wouldn't it be fun if we could have a 'virtual concert' featuring the players in this forum ... ? Don't really have much idea how it would work in practice, unfortunately. Be a lot of work organising it methinks.

Here's my attempt. I'm no Kirk or RockerBob - but I'm trying to learn to play decent blues leads!

I tried to get the balance better between the guitar and the BT than my take on the C blues yesterday. Please let me know if the balance is better or OK - or if one or the other still needs to come up or go down.

Thanks!
Jim

Great playing Jim ... very melodic, very soulful. I love it when I hear the player's personality coming through and I sure hear that with you. My guess is that you've played the blues before!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
