smooth blues backing track in A

I found a couple of backing tracks on the internet. This one seemed to fit my mood at the time.

So here's the backing track and my take on it.

I used my Strat plugged into a borrowed Vox DA5 > Tone Port > Audacity. Just kind of followed along with the feel of it.

Thanks for listening to it, fly, Stratrat, and allthumbs.

The website that I found this on has some high quality backing tracks in several genres of music. You have to be a member to download, but it's a free sign-up. Not sure if I can post a link to it...?

As for my take on it, I can hear that there is some repetition in the few tunes I've done. I need to increase my "library of blues licks" in a bad way, it seems. I like the tone that I got from the DA5, it's a nice little amp. I used the Blues 2 setting with very little gain, and no effects.

Hey that is very cool.
Thanks for posting that, and the backing track too. I might have a go over that later on.

Enjoyed the playing. Could you share with me your approach in terms of the chord shapes/segments i.e. harmonies your using. Sounds like some ninth chords tones to me mixed with the blues scale. I'd appreciate some tab if you could - not of the whole thing but of your general approach.

Tone sounded authentic blues and rhythm was nicely syncopated. Your use of attack with the right hand and the slides is pretty much the real thing.

Also I would like to know where you got the backing. Always good for practice if you don't have any friends to play with.

Hi GG I was listening to the backing track when I made the above comments. I then listened to the second track which was the one with your solo.

Ok so I enjoyed the backing track guitar work. Good chord blues playing so I guess if anybody listening to that wants to discuss how the guitarist is achieving that sound I'm all ears.

Sorry for the mix up.

Lis, Nice rhythm work there. Very solid. The lead work was cool, too. Perhaps a bit more volume or just a touch more distortion...ok, maybe not nasty distortion, but just a bit more broken up tone. Just on the edge of the tubes being overdriven.

Keep up the good work!
