How to Play Slide Guitar in Standard/Dropped-D DVD by Kirk Lorange

If you really want to spice up your playing, slip a slide over your pinkie and add it to your musical vocabulary. There's no need to re-tune your guitar to an open tuning, just stay in standard or lower that bass string down to D. Kirk shows you how in this 70 minute DVD, talking and playing you through the basics, vibrato, muting, playing single note lines, finding all the chord flavors (they're all there!) and mixing it all into one very neat hybrid style of playing guitar.   Jeff Lang- New CD

Jeff Lang has new CD out, "You have to dig deep to bury daddy".
I've only heard one track-"And all the snow melted".
Beautiful song, slow and spooky, with some great melodious slide playing.

I seen Jeff play live a few years back, and it was like, OK, how fast can I pick? I didn't enjoy the show, even though I like fast picking, his playing just did nothing for me.

I changed my mind after recently hearing his live album "No point slowing down".
He's a very talented guitarist, and has obviously put in an incredible amount of effort to get so good.
In fact, he's probably one of the most talented slide guitarists I've heard.
"No point slowing down", has some exceptional slide playing, and has a classy laid back feel that is great to chill out to.
He mixes a few different styles of slide playing to come up with a unique flavour; sort of newage blues with a hint of curry.
His vocals are good, but I'd prefer to listen to the music minus the singing; but hey, if you want great singing just listen to Englebert Humperdinck!

He very nearly rivals Tommy as one of Australia's greatest guitarists.

I'd rather a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
