How to Play Slide Guitar in Standard/Dropped-D DVD by Kirk Lorange

If you really want to spice up your playing, slip a slide over your pinkie and add it to your musical vocabulary. There's no need to re-tune your guitar to an open tuning, just stay in standard or lower that bass string down to D. Kirk shows you how in this 70 minute DVD, talking and playing you through the basics, vibrato, muting, playing single note lines, finding all the chord flavors (they're all there!) and mixing it all into one very neat hybrid style of playing guitar. you mean amp settings. I use my guitar modeler mostly so I don't bother with them much. This link should give you some ideas.

If your talking pup (pickup) settings, it's what sounds best to you. I usually play lead in neck or middle . rythm in middle or bridge and slide in bridge position, but not knowing what your guitar sounds like, I can't say what would work for you.

the original sound of my guitar (i like the way it sounds is dirty - it has much of bass frequencies - it's like that "bass-like" and "tapping" guitar sound that is used in some kinds fusion. i like to emphasize a bit of mid (+7-8db) and trebble freq. (+15db) and lower thw bass (-2-3db). but most resourses advise to increase bass and trebble freq-s and lower thw mid ones. they might be saying concerning clear-sounding gutars, so i shouldn't increase basses, but still i don't like the sound - i feel lacking part of thesound...like there is a hole in it.
according to your link all the artists mentioned there use that (+bass&trebble -mid) settings exept jimmi hendrix. maybe i have a "wrong" feeling of sound. that's why I ask you about your settings and the affect you want to reach useng them

you have to remember that most of the amp settings on that site are using od. so the mids don't have to be cranked. I have seen onboard mid boosters for guitars here and there. They tend to cost well under 100 bucks if i remember right. There is no right or wrong in tone. It is what sounds good to your ear so if cranking the mids up does it for you, cool.
