How to Play Slide Guitar in Standard/Dropped-D DVD by Kirk Lorange

If you really want to spice up your playing, slip a slide over your pinkie and add it to your musical vocabulary. There's no need to re-tune your guitar to an open tuning, just stay in standard or lower that bass string down to D. Kirk shows you how in this 70 minute DVD, talking and playing you through the basics, vibrato, muting, playing single note lines, finding all the chord flavors (they're all there!) and mixing it all into one very neat hybrid style of playing guitar.   Ry Cooder's "songs"

hi, people

I have some songs of ry cooder - "Ganges Delta blues" and tampa red's "Dark was the night, cold was the ground". I like them, but a can't find notes or tabs for them. All I've found is tabs written in notepad, most of them are not correct.

Does anyone know how to play these songs?

I have the tab for Dark Was The Night done by Blind Willie Johnson It is in open D. The base line on the intro and end of each verse is played on the fourth string with the thumb. He plays a faint arpeggio in the long pauses between notes. Tons of vibrato with a pocket knife. Think old Baptist church for the feel.

I just checked out powertab, no hits and guitarpro. It has three cooder tunes but not what you are after. You might find some tampa there. Try these two forums.
