How to Play Slide Guitar in Standard/Dropped-D DVD by Kirk Lorange

If you really want to spice up your playing, slip a slide over your pinkie and add it to your musical vocabulary. There's no need to re-tune your guitar to an open tuning, just stay in standard or lower that bass string down to D. Kirk shows you how in this 70 minute DVD, talking and playing you through the basics, vibrato, muting, playing single note lines, finding all the chord flavors (they're all there!) and mixing it all into one very neat hybrid style of playing guitar.   Sonny Landreth last night in NYC

Sonny was killing. Best show I've ever seen him do, out of many the past few years.
If you like your blues tones screaming, over-driven, with a touch of delay, go catch Sonny on this tour. Sonny is a tour de force and a living example of the total mastery of slide technique. He has great moves, tone, and material.
The supporting show was excellent too.
Bob Brozman was in good form, and the Campbell Bros. showed where Robert Randolph learned a good portion of his act. I'm not sure they are all on the tour, but even if its just Sonny and his band, go see them!
He's touring the mid-atlantic doing Va. Md. and Pa on this leg.
Great cure for the winter doldrums.

sounds great.Wish I could catch one of their gigs. I live in a small town in northern ontario so I am beat for that tour list. Even if they were playing Toronto, it would be tough. I have a handicapped wife. It costs me 20 bucks an hour just to walk out the door. I have'nt seen a live show in almost 15 years. I miss that a lot.
