How to Play Slide Guitar in Standard/Dropped-D DVD by Kirk Lorange

If you really want to spice up your playing, slip a slide over your pinkie and add it to your musical vocabulary. There's no need to re-tune your guitar to an open tuning, just stay in standard or lower that bass string down to D. Kirk shows you how in this 70 minute DVD, talking and playing you through the basics, vibrato, muting, playing single note lines, finding all the chord flavors (they're all there!) and mixing it all into one very neat hybrid style of playing guitar.   slide intervals

Hello Kirk,

I've been a dedicated slider since receiving your dvd nine months ago. Your method of playing just about any chord in standard tuning is amazing and inspiring. Here are a few questions for you...

How do you play a minor third interval (such as E and G)? I know, for instance, you could play both notes at the fifth fret, but what if you want the G note on top?

Of course this sound is easy to get in open tunings, but are you able to "fake" this in standard? Do you tilt the slide....or do you just avoid this sound because it has been over-used by every other slide player?

Also...
Is it possible to download or buy a cd of the tunes in the "Slide Guitar a Lorange" music player? I'd love to have 'em! Thanks Kirk!

Hi, kobe. Yes, you can tilt the slide on the 2nd-3rd strings up at the 7th-8th fret. I've been getting into a bit of this myself recently, trying to perfect it so it can become second nature. Until then I'll just keep practicing.

I have been thinking of compiling all those slide tunes onto a CD that I can sell for a nominal cost. Thanks for reminding me ... I'll look into it asap and let you know when it's done. There are quite a few more to add to it.
