How to Play Slide Guitar in Standard/Dropped-D DVD by Kirk Lorange

If you really want to spice up your playing, slip a slide over your pinkie and add it to your musical vocabulary. There's no need to re-tune your guitar to an open tuning, just stay in standard or lower that bass string down to D. Kirk shows you how in this 70 minute DVD, talking and playing you through the basics, vibrato, muting, playing single note lines, finding all the chord flavors (they're all there!) and mixing it all into one very neat hybrid style of playing guitar. Your muting hand is much better. You really need to put some vibrato in there. That is an awfully long run on the treble strings. There needs to be some bass notes to help carry it through. Just a thought.

I see what your saying.

Maybe every 4th count use the low "LOW D STRING"? should fix the problem?

Derek,
Yes it needs bass. And yes that is a nice guitar. That is one long slide you got there on your finger. Just keep working it.
