Cardboard boxes for drums

PickNGrin mentioned, in another thread, my using cardboard boxes for drums in a recording, so I thought I would post it. Being a Beatles fan, I like to play and record Beatles tunes. My inspiration for this recording was to try to record "Come Together" totally acoustic. As it turns out, I decided to use an electric bass, but that is the only sound in the recording that was not recorded by putting a mic in front of it. I don't own any drums. I have some hand percussion I use in recordings, but mostly I use digital drums. I wanted to stick with things I had that I could mic, so I got three cardboard boxes, miced tham and played them with my open hands, like congas. One for kick and 2 for toms. I use a tambourine to fill in where snare and crash cymbals would be. I used some EQ, compression and reverb to fill out the "drum" sounds. I hope you enjoy! All the guitars are mic'ed acoustic guitars - no pickups.
