Hey Y'all!

I'm originally from Edmonton, Alberta Canada, living in Northern Mississippi now. I have always had an appreciation for music all my life. When I was 6 years old I started taking organ lessons until I was about 12, then in junior high I got into the music program and played saxophone in concert band and stage band all through high school and beyond. As an adult I played in an amateur music society until I moved from Edmonton. I took up guitar when I was about 12 but didn't have the patience or any lessons at the time, so I lost interest, now at 40 I'm more focused and ready to try it again. My husband is also a music lover, he played trumpet in his high school marching band and has played piano all his life. He has 2 six strings, a Washburn 12 string, and a 1950's Silvertone electric guitar that his uncle had. His uncle was killed when he was 19 in a car wreck coming back from playing a gig at a dance, so my husband never did get to know him, but he inherited the gift of music. I figured with all these guitars around me and with my husband's help and some lessons we can bring some music into this house like there used to be. Well I'm rambling on but I'm really glad to see something like this out there for us folks to be able to work at learning at our own pace without costing an arm and a leg.

Happy New Year and Happy Pickin!
