Mike,
I discovered Kirk's site by accident around the start of this year and have visited many times since. Kirk's lesson of the week on my first visit was "Always on my Mind". As usual Kirk delivers a splendid interpretation which isn't too difficult to get the fingers around. Highly recommended. The one thing I would disagree with Kirk on though, is that he favours Willie Nelson's version over Elvis's. For me, the king delivers one of his best performances on this record - very emotional but not oversung. I prefer Willie's version of "Funny How Time Slips Away" though.

House of The Rising Sun is a simple one to start with.

I think either JTstyle picking,(I learned it in about a day) or lean on me is a pretty simple tune, either house of the rising sun or perhaps JT or Mr bojangles? Just try to whiz through all the songs that you like slowly... the desperado intro is also pretty easy, with a little practice that is.

The one I started on is Here There Everywhere. The first part isn't too hard to learn and the melody is a beauty. My second melody is Mash its very catchy and I love the low notes. I believe that Kirk has done a great job on it.

One thing I would have found helpful is Kirk writing out the fingering for some of the simpler tunes. I believe that its good practice to learn the correct fingering early and figuring it out from the video can sometimes take a while especially if the tune is in a fast tempo. I posted my fingering for Here There Everywhere - part 1 Here There Everywhere - part 1
Still waiting for Kirk or someone else to confirm. I'm on my way to figuring out mash, but its taking time. I will post it once I'm finished.

Cheers,
