I like most anything if it's well rendered, but I really do admire the music I first heard: big band. My dad was a great enthusiast and played it loud. When I listen back to those tunes now, I know every note, every nuance, and they're all strokes of genius. How a couple of dozen players could set up grooves like they did is beyond me ... playing with one other person is hard enough!
