  Kirks' Dropped D slide review.

After my long wait, I finally got the slide today. I played Soft jazzy ballad stuff and heavy o.d. blues stuff for an hour or two. I have big fingers, I am happy to say, It fit me to a tee. It weighs at least twice as much as its' twin in leaded glass from Diamond. I was surprised at how much easier it was on my hand keeping good contact with the strings with that extra weight. My hand was more relaxed which is the opposite of what I was expecting. I have heard it said that brass is more harsh but, I find the tone smooth as butter. The glass has a slightly silkier sound and not as much slide noise, but the difference is slight to my ear at least. It may be more noticable if you crank your amp for stage work. The brass has a fatter sound, more like the horn sound Kirk gets sometimes. It is now my favorite slide followed by the Diamond. Well worth the wait and it is very reasonably priced. Thanks Kirk. A great product.
