slide. The short length makes it so much easier to fret behind the slide. don't really need to damp hardly at all, it plays so clean. Nice sweet,smooth sound. It has its' place in my guitar case but I will reseve final judgement till I try the brass slide in may. I probably will use both depending on which the tune needs.
