If your guitar is brand new you may have to give it a period of time for the wood to "open up". Typically a new guitar's tone can improve dramatically when/if this happens, and when it does...
Be sure to keep it humidified somewhat. I have used a Dampit device with my new Taylor, and now after a month or so, WOW! But for that month I was sorta missing my old Takamine.
