Feedback appreciated from experienced home recordists

Hi guys

I've just posted a thread here

http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/fo...8481#post78481

with some BTs I've made for ear-training etc. This is my very first home recording, so I'd appreciate any comments/tips from the experienced home recordists on the forum.

Cheers!

Ian

It's not what you can't do. It's how you play what you already know.

That's odd Steve. I just downloaded the mp3 from the site here and it plays fine on my MediaPlayer. Have to wait and see if anyone else is having the same problem. Maybe its something to do with the higher sample rate? I've lowered it back to the original 44.1 for future recordings following fly's advice.

This looks like it could be a fun second career, so later this morning I'm off to look over a sound engineering training studio. At the very least it would be fun to know what I'm doing!!

Nah. The higher sample rate just means more bits within the file. It's nothing to do with the player recognizing the file type.

Oh, I find it all very fascinating! I hope you have fun and learn a bunch. There's really alot to do with understanding recording, and some people find it fascinating in an electronic sense (me, anyway!) The whole message about learning about recording: Learn what is happening in the signal chain.

Have fun with it,

Steve

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
