I just bought me a new Epiphone Les Paul in transparent amber. All the hardware on it is nickle plated. The speed knobs are also amber, but don't really match, and wanted some chrome ones to make it look better. I have spent alot of time searching the internet for some, and cannot find any anywhere. I was wondering if there is a reason for this. A guy at work mentioned the metal knobs may short, or conduct electricity through the knobs. I guess it could be possible, but don't know alot about that stuff.

I have access to a CNC lathe to make some myself, but just wanted to make sure it would be ok or not. I am thinking either polished stainless steel, or aluminum. That sure would make my Les Paul alot better looking, and stand out from the rest.
