I forgot to mention that The next chord to try would be a D chord in the Key of G and an F chord ,which is the IV chord in the Key of C. I would add an FMaJ7 between the G and C chord,if I decided that I wanted it to be in the Key of C. I don't play through scales so I can't help you there.
