Drum Beat Backing Track

Hi All.

In one of Kirk's threads he mentioned that when he creates a tune he works off the base or chord progression and works his way up to the tune. I call it: "Basement up" .
I realized that I operate that way as well. Thanks Kirk for pointing that out..

Anyway, .. Here's an interesting drum beat loop I made with my software.

Time: 5:15

It's in every key you can think of.

If you like it, find it challenging, ... I hope to hear what you can do with it.

Regards
John Hoita

Thanks John, I think it needs a change up of rythmn. Like every four bars or so. That steady beat is ok.... but too long for a whole song of improvisation.

Absolutely right ... slickcat ... it needs some cuttting.

Curious to see what anyone could build out of this.

  My short take

I took a try with my resonator...(its all I had close by) I think you could do some better impovising with electric. But here it is John.
I think I have the rythmn....now you fill in the lead!!

Hey Slickcat ... I like it.

It's neat working from the basement up.

Nice .... very nice.

I'm downloading this one.

I'll play with this one tomorrow. Forgot I have to sleep.

Sorry SlickCat.

This is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada and it seems to get in my way of other things ... like jamming.

I just managed to hide in my room for a quick jam before guests arrive.
Wish I had a lttle more time. I don't know if I'll be able to get at it again today.

Here it is in the raw.

Add to it if you like.

This is fun.

I think we did pretty good for the first time jamming together. Especially over the internet like this.
And especially when you don't know what's coming next. You have helped me alot here.

Maybe someone will put some vocals over this????

I'll put something else up. Or if you ... do let me know.

Let's hope more of this is around.

Got to go.

John

I wouldn't mind hearing your own lead over your rhythym.

Yes, it was kinda neat. Never have done something like this before.

I think we did all right ... yes, pretty quick as well. High Five! SlickCat

Thanks again Slickcat

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
