Hello
Thought I would take a few minutes to write a bit about myself.
I've been fooling with the guitar for about 3 years now. I say fooling because I fell into the trap that I think alot of people do that I learned all the Intros and Solos that I liked, and then kept palying those over and over without really learning too much new. Don't get me wrong, I've learned more than a few songs along the way, also, but mostly open and power chord driven songs from the likes of Nirvana and The Ramones.
I'm looking to maybe getting a better understanding of the theory behind the music. I know, probably the exact opposite of what most people come on saying. I understand Tab, my only real learning resource was Guitar For Dummies. And while an excellent book to get started playing quick, it is very short on the theory...or maybe it just didn't explain it in a way that I understood. Either way...most of the things that I know are played down by the the tuning pegs of the guitar because I don't really understand the how or the why of converting the chords up the neck. That's what I'm hoping to change this go 'round. Also hoping to learn some great tips and maybe being able to provide some help with my limited knowledge.
Glad to be aboard
