Nirvana is one of my favorite bands, and it's sad that
they ended they way they did.. Kurt Cobain definitely
had an ear for melody. There's a string tribute to Nirvana
CD out there that has Nirvana songs played by a string
quartet. It's beautiful. Even though the songs themselves
are basic from a guitar perspective, the actual melodies
are just amazing.

I'd much rather listen to Cobain's simple guitar solos than
those by Satriani, Vai, or anybody from any 80s metal band.
At least there's a discernable melody in Nirvana's music.
Hehe. "Come As You Are" was the first song I ever learned on
guitar.
