I'm glad you like it, ociaby. I also find those changes very evocative, which I guess is why I wrote the tune that way. Technically, the B7 chord is what I call a 'majorized' iii chord, meaning that the usual chord built on the third degree of the key of G (B) is a Bm ... I changed it to B7, and I think it's that move away from the tonality of G that is doing it. I know when I was looking for the next chord and I tried that B7 and I had that same feeling melancholic feeling ... so I kept it in there.
