Hi whippy999.

Short answer: No. PlaneTalk was written mainly for those who are at the stage in their playing where they want to start using the whole fretboard, those who are looking for a way to invent (improvise) their own lines, solos, riffs and licks on the fly; those who want to be able to add harmony notes to their riffs without stopping to wonder where those notes are; those who want to be able to play rhythm parts in multiple positions .. on the fly; those who have all the basics under control, know scales/modes, but are still having trouble using all those elements to actually make music.

Until you're at that stage, I wouldn't spend the dough. Keep plugging away at the free lessons here and elsewhere, keep filing away as much info as you can (mentally) and play as much as you can.

One day, hopefully sooner than later, you'll know that it's time, especially when you start playing with others, or start recording and overdubbing different guitar parts to build up a track, like a couple of rythtm parts, themes, harmony lines, solos ... that's when the PlaneTalk mind-set comes in very handy.

I hope this helps!
