Parents know some things. They know when to feed you. They know when you should be home. They know when to pay the electric bill. They especially know squat. Particularly when it comes to music.
Practice anyway.
I know. I'm a parent. I bought guitars and dulcimers and what-not for our kids when they were young. They had nothing to do with them. My son, now 28, is an acomplished bassist and my daughter, now 30, critiques my work to make me a better musician.
