hello. im just a little confused about a few things. with all the different keys, how many are there? Is it just the chromatic scale?? and if so how does it affect a chord progression? also are majors, minors the same as sharps and flats? if so why its a bit confusing lol. i really need more then one example to compare so that i get the flow if you understand me. apart from that great work mate.

I think you need to read through all the stuff a few more times, rage.

There are 12 major keys, one for each note of the chromatic scale. Minor keys are sort of built into that same system, but you can say that there are 12 minor keys also.

Major/minor has nothing to do with sharp/flat.

It takes a while for the bits to fall into place, but keep reading as much as you can, here and elsewhere.
