We have Radio! GFB&B Featured Members Radio!
Well after a few months of planning we have finally got the GFB&B Featured Members Radio up and running!! It's in the beta stage at the moment although so far it's tested ok.
We are starting off with tunes from our members lcjones, nocat, Rockerbob and Kirk. All the tunes on the Featured Members Radio are either originals or tunes that are old enough to not have a problem with the copyright. There's about 70 songs in the player so far with more coming soon... that's plenty of listening.
We've made sub-forums for all our featured members here so that other members can leave feedback or ask questions. These subforums are located under the radio forum but also can be accessed directly from the player as you will see... I've been lucky enough over the last couple of weeks to have been listening to all these great tunes... it really does make a difference when you are listening in a streamable format. We sure have some talent on here.
We are hoping to add more members music in the future. At the moment, nocat, lcjones and Rockerbob are all using their own servers for the streaming of their music. Thanks guys!!
The player I have chosen for the radio is a Flash player, so you will need the latest version of Macromedia Flash installed on your computer. If you don't have that already (chances are that you do) - you can download it from here - Flash Player
Anyway, without further ado, you can access the radio from the link up in the nav bar (after you have logged in) or from the link from the radio forum. Or just go here - The Radio.
Any problems just let me know in this thread. Enjoy and make sure you...
TURN IT UP!!
Clancy

Thanks Clancy, I just love it.
I found that I am not listening to the members recording section anymore because it was a sleph to download everything... this would definately come in handy...

Argh! Stop shrinking my browser to fit the radio! PLEASE! I use Firefox and it shrinks all my open tabs. Very frustrating.
Otherwise, it's fabulous.

I can just say I'm envy right now, 'cause I have a dial-up, and can't listen the radio... But, I'm amazed with the work and passion you put into this forum...
Once more, great work!

Glad you all like it. It is pretty cool isn't it! and the best thing about it is the music coming out of it! A big thanks to Les, Keith, Ben and Kirk for providing the music!

Mitch,
I'm surprised that is happening. If you open it up from the radio link up in the nav bar, it should just pop up in a new window of it's own. It shouldn't be added to your tabs.
I did have the info page that pops up first (from the link here in the radio forum) set to resize the window on load... maybe that's what was doing it. I tried it on my Firefox and it didn't open a new tab, it opened in a brand new window... I have changed that info page window resize now so hopefully that problem won't exist for you anymore.
Anyway, let me know if it's still doing it for you if you click on the Radio link up in the nav bar (located between the Chat link and the Log Out link). That is a Javascript popup and shouldn't do what you mentioned.
Cheers
Clancy

No I'm still stuck with dial up. Hoping that will change soon though. We have pay TV and to be honest, we haven't been really getting our money's worth from it simply because we haven't been really watching it enough.
So, when the contract expires in August I suggested to my son that we not renew the contract with Foxtel, and get Broadband.
Sorry for the long story, but I thought I'd fill you in on what's happening.
I still say that it's a grand idea though. (The radio that is)
Believe me, when I do get Broadband, I'll be tuning in for certain!

Thanks Clancy, your kind words are much appreciated.
It's great to be back. Well, almost back, I'm going to be busy for a while longer yet, but hope to spend more time here soon to catch up with old friends and hopefully meet some new ones.
Take care,
