  Is it for me, yet?

Well, I've hit a wall. Melodically, you could say, not technically.

I've been playing for 13 months now, and I'm getting quite good, technically.
I know about and understand quite a number of chords, I've learned intervals, I understand how chords and scales are relative to each other, how one colors the other and so on.
I've learnt a lot of techniques, and I can play pretty much anything if I'm stubborn enough.
Recently I've started 'improvising'. My teacher calls it improvising, I don't.
I improvise with scales as a map for where I am, problem is... I mostly use the pentatonic scale, and I simpy get stuck in box 1. I can play melodically without sounding too linear, but only in this box.... as soon as I try to move up/down the neck it's crap. So it gets rather linear anyway.
Well, those were the details.
In short, I could say the problem is that I've learnt so much and I know so much, but I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT, OR HOW TO DO IT.

So is PT something for me? Will it help me with this?
