Hi Raoul, a general rule for fingerstyle is to place the ring finger on the first - thinnest - string, middle finger on the second string and index finger on the third string, leaving the thumb to take care of the bottom three bass stings. As I said this is a general rule which you will probably break every time you pick up the guitar but hopefully it will help you out a little.
