This is something I just wrote. The title jumped into my head this morning and I started with the idea of doing a song about someone wanting the fortunes of fame but not the attention that it brings (ie being a "little" bit famous) but it turned into something completely different. Anyhow, it's been a fun way to spend my lunch hour

. I have not got music for it yet, that will have to be another lunch hour (or fifty or maybe never

).
Buy a ticket, take a number
get in line, queue up straight
you'll know when I'm coming
you'll hear where I'm playing
It's your only chance to see me
so don't get there late
I'm a little bit famous
a little contagious
you know you can't help it
I'm a fad that can't wait
I'm a little bit famous
a little contagious
you know you can't help it
You worship my traits
the promoters all love me
the producers do too
I've become my own industry
I'm worth more than small countries
You know all my songs
But if you sing them I'll sue
The Tabloids all live on
my small indescretions
They tell when I'm fighting
They tell who I'm loving
they capture your dollar
when I capture your attention
I'm a little bit famous
a little contagious
you know you can't help it
I'm a fad that can't wait
I'm a little bit famous
a little contagious
you know you can't help it
You worship my traits
And when you no longer love me
when I'm yesterday's news
when my managers percentage
has eaten my fortunes
I'll be planning my comeback
and singing the blues
when I was a little bit famous
a little contagious
I just couldn't help it
I don't like to gloat
but I was a little bit famous
a little contagious
my own fifteen minutes
lasted longer than most
Any and all feedback appreciated
Cheers
Peter
