Hm!! Still having problems with the tuning. I've taken Dawn and 737's collective advice to tune by chromatic tuner - battery bought/hearing aid intact - and ensured that A=440.

I wasn't far away 'cos before all of this hassle I had made use of the online guitar tuner. Same rigmarole...tried a song playing with Kirk's vid and there wasn't any improvement...as in, it was cack! Then I tried playing against a couple of other members' postings of vids etc and played away happily....the guitars were perfectly in tune.

So logically viewing this sorry debacle - Kirk is not out of tune, I'm not out of tune. Is there something I can check with my computer programmes (yeah, I know already I'm not technically minded...but I'm not a technophobe)? I'm not entirely comfortable with the workings of a computer but surely there must be an adjustment to be made given that neither Kirk or myself are out of tune. Do you tweak a doopher, crank a switch?

Good thing out all this escapade is that I finally got round to tuning up the mandolin and let my fingers chase each other around the fretboard for the rest of yesterday evening.

Any advice will be gratefully welcomed.
Iain
