Pain In The Shoulder !!! - Please Help !!!

Hi Family

I hope everything is well there, with everyone

From the past 2-3 Days, I'm experiencing sharp pain in my Right-Shoulder, when I practice for more than 20-30 Minutes continously. I'm afraid that I'm having a lot of tension in my Shoulder (and other parts too ) I have read that having tension in any part of the body, while playing the Guitar is very Bad.

I'm really afraid that my Posture may be wrong and I may have developed some Fatal-Bad-Habits in my Playing . I usually feel more of this pain when I'm finger-picking.

Kindly advice !

Thanks and Lots of Luv to everyone !!!!
Your Buddy

Yoga, Yoghurt and watch the Prince video before playing Kush. (If you can move like that, not only will you never get stiff but fame and fortune will be assured.)

P.S. Take it easy for a few days before following the more sensible advice offered in this thread and I'm sure all will be well.

Hey Kush
As one who has suffered terribly with aches and pains, I will recommend a couple of things:
1. Check out Jamie Andreas' book 'Principles of Correct Practice for the Guitar'. Her website is also very good. From memory it is www.guitarprinciples.com. Most of what I would encourage you to do would be on there anyway.

2. See someone for a remedial massage regularly if you can.

Take care

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
