Huh? Is that just a general complaint or does it have something to do with this topic... I'm confused.

Clancy, remember I was the first person to hint towards the challenge, and i said that i would record something. Well i tried and this was the result... I am still trying to solve the recording issue. Posted a request and more detailed explanation in another thread.
I read the post afterwards and realised there might be a bit of confusion. Sorry

I'm not sure if I'm in the right place to ask a question but I'll try it here anyway, because I don't know what else to do. I'll give a little background of myself before I ask the question. My name is William but I've always been known as Skip by my friends, I just turned 73 on March 2nd. I got my guitar on 12-12-06, it's a Fender Classical, but it deviates from all of the classical guitars I've ever seen, the neck slims down up by the nut like a steel string acoustic. I'm to old to live long enough to get good but I really enjoy picking out old tunes that I've had in my head since I was a youngster and I have a lot of free time to do it.
I have a print out of the major chord groups, and I know the (do-re-me.....) scales and have them printed out in tab form, I have drawn the fret board and have all of the notes listed on the drawing, with the sharps and flats empty.
I have made tabs of some of the songs I remember and have applied many others to memory by playing them over and over, note that I'm talking about just picking one note at a time, I would like to be able to incorporate some chords into my tunes, but....
THIS IS MY QUESTION: How do I figure out what key I'm playing my song in, I haven't been able to find any place that explains that, if I knew what key I was playing in I could at least try to insert a chord that fits into that particular key group and add a little depth to my songs, I feel kind of stupid not being able to figure it out by myself but I've really tried and haven't had any luck, I know I wasn't gifted with rhythm or musical talent, but with what I've learned so far it seems like I should be able to put 2 and 2 together, but I'm at a loss, maybe someone out there can direct me to a place where I can learn how to know what key I'm playing in.
Thank you, wcostley "Skip"

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
