I think all guitars sound just a bit different but have you considered a hand held chromatic tuner? I use this one and it has not failed me yet! http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ner?sku=215003
I believe tuning by ear takes some time......don't quit yet!!!
BTW IMOHO no one wants to hear you play a comb! LOL
