don't beat yourself up kush...i played for over thirty years and after my accident i never played for 7 years..now i have started again and there are things i can play and things i can't..but i can play the beginnings to more songs than i can count but some i can still play all the way through because they meant something or i practised them a little more..over time you will learn hundreds of songs and styles..some will stay with you some won't but think about why a certain song stays with you...right now you are really into "tears in heaven"...tuff song..maybe it means more to you than the others you have learned or could it be that you
just have to learn the song you are working on at the time and excluding the others..if you want to keep everything you learn there are good suggestions all thru the thread...i have a 3 drawer filing cabinet filled with all the songs i learned and kept over the years and i go thru it now and again and find something but most times i say to myself "what am i doing with all these songs, i'll never play them all"..i found if i wanted to keep my library up and still learn new songs i would put X amount of time aside to work on the new one...then do a run through of the songs i wanted to remember...in otherwords repeat, repeat, repeat and try to associate the songs with something you relate to...other than that keep at it...i have read many of your threads and you are honest and passionate about being a musician...in my book that puts you halfway there
take care
