Bought the Dot last fall brand new. It was my 50th birthday present from my wife
. Haven't done a thing to it except put on some D'Addario strings. I love it just the way it is. Nice clean sound but can bark when needed.
My Strat is a Mexican Standard. I changed out all the electronics for American Standard. Pups and all the switches and pots. It has a real nice mellow tone. I can get the Clapton or David Gilmour sound out of it. My Tele is also a MS. I changed out the standard pups for some Texas Specials. It gives me that Keith Richards Honky Tonk sound and if I need, I can clean it up and play some twangy country.
I play through a Behringer V-ampire or a Rocktron Rampage 120c stero amp. I also have a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI controller that I use with the V-ampire. I also have a 70's Fender Champ tube amp that I use to practice with.
