a few years ago, an elderly man in our area lost his wife. every day, he would go to her grave site and sit there in the grass. in bad weather he would sit in his cqr from where he could see her grave. soon thereafter he past away from a broken heart folks said. i wrote this trying to feel some of what he may have.
after fifty odd years of married life
a lot of happiness, a little strife.
the grew up and moved away, and
i loved you more every day.

so, never lonely shall i be.

we worked, we sweat.
we laughed, we played,
always looked forward to each day.
now , instead of seven,
there was only two,
and more and more
i dpended on you,.

there is only one,
and as i look at the setting sun,
i pray someday i'll be with you,
when this life is done.
