That Alvarez should be a nice beginner acoustic. I've played several Alvarez guitars that sound and play as good as other guitars much more expensive.
Edit: "beginner" as in "don't want to spend a lot of money". It's certainly a decent guitar and many seasoned but budget-minded guitarists use them!
