Greetings
I usually hang around Kirk's
Plane Talk forum but thought I have a look on here and registered immediately when I saw the quality of the postings. I've been playing for a couple of years now, I treated myself to a Strat as a 40th birthday present and hardly a day has gone passed when I haven't picked my baby up. I like to play blues, indie and rock, only regret is I didn't start playing 25 years ago, so much to learn and so little time. I was brought up on the likes of Page, Zappa and Eddie Van Halen but also loved the energy of the Punk era. I'm in a band called Double Zero, check out
www.dzfm.co.uk for some streaming audio, or download some MP3's from
http://www.aunl07.dsl.pipex.com/ any feedback welcomed.
For those of you who haven't experimented with Kirk's Plane Talk method, I would recommend it without hesitation, it has helped my playing a lot, and makes much more sense than learning scales and modes. Rather than thinking 'Ah this is an Bbmaj7 so I have to play an E Phrygian over that except on a Monday when its a F# Mixolodian' it puts you in charge of playing what notes YOU choose to play.
Look forward to browing this forum and chipping in with my 2 cents worth on occassions.
Cheers
Andy
