Yes, Keith used to come down often to the Bayview Hotel in Sydney and listen to my band Chasin The Train when he was a whipper snapper ... and I wasn't. He's a great guitarist (as if I need to mention it) and we often wound up at the same country music festivals after he started up his own band.
I played
slide on what I guess was his first album ... I can't remember the tune or the title of the album. He's an extremely talented Aussie and a gentleman. It wasn't long after that album that he moved to Nashville ... our loss, America's gain!
If you can tell me the name of the tune I played on and the album, I'd be much obliged. I seem to remember that it was just the one song, overdubbed long after he'd recorded the rhythm tracks.
He's now a great example of what you can achieve if you really believe in yourself and work and work and work. I keep waiting for him to call me up and ask me to join his band ... no word yet!
Cheers,
