Hi. Name is Mike or Michael, whatever ya like.
Not new to guitar, about 2 1/2 years in on my second or third attempt, first serious attempt.
I know the chords, open and barre, know strumming patterns and some fingerpicking. When I play something people recognize it. I know enough theory to get by. Looking for something to get me to the next level. To get past the pentonics. To get my finger speed up and my alternate picking more acurate. To get the flow from the tab to my eyes to my fingers less choppy. I know there is no magic pill or secret. The secret is in practicing, and I tell that to newbies all the time. But here I am, looking for inspiration, exercises, lessons, tips, hints, whatever ya got to throw at me.
As for the people here that are new to guitar listen to those that tell you "it will come", because it will. Everyone has their own hurdles, for some its the G chord, others (most others) its the F. Keep at, work slow and steady. Soon not only will you be making the G chord with out looking you'll be making it with alternate fingerings too. (2nd finger 5th string B, 3rd finger 6th string G, 4th finger 1st string G) And when you get to that point you won't have to ask why its important.
I'm sure there's more to tell but I've probably bored you all to sleep already.
See you all on the boards.
Michael
