Smile Greetings from Jim!

First of all -- I can't believe I was able to get the username 'Jim' with more than 10,000 members here! I was sure I'd have to choose something like "Jim999' but I tried 'Jim' and got it. So, that's a great start. Unless I'm the only person named Jim on this forum (and that would be pretty scary).

I've played guitar for almost 40 years, but until very recently it was almost all folk music, with some pop/rock thrown in occasionally. And being truthful, there was a long period of time in the 90's and early 2000's when I played very little. But I'm back at it full time now (when I'm not at my day job) and I'm pretty much back in shape. I also am a composer of neo-classical music and have a BA in music from Colby College. More details about my background are on my profile and website at http://jamessignorile.com/

I also have a more guitar oriented homepage on WholeNote at http://www.wholenote.com/members/jimsignorile/

For whatever reason (middle age?) I became obsessed about 6 months ago with listening to and playing Blues. Because of that, last September I re-acquired a Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Deluxe (I had a '72 original, but sold it in '75 to pay the rent). I've also had a Yahama FG-180 acoustic for over 30 years that's a faithful friend.

I just want to say Hi and thanks for having such a great community here! Oh, and I also bought the PlaneTalk book and DVD from Kirk about 3 months ago and I've learned SO much from that! It's one of the best ways of learning guitar I've seen.

Jim

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
