Slow shuffle in C

Here's a good backing track to play over, thanks to 'Decca' from the PlaneTalkers' Forum who found it. It's a slow blues in the key of C, a fairly familiar sounding 12 bar progression. Here it is:

| C - - - | F7 - - - | C - - - | C - - - | F7 - - - | F7 - - - |
| C - Dm - | Em - D#m - | Dm - - - | F - F/G - | C - F - | C - G -|

... pretty standard except for those minor chords at bars 6 and 7. They're the fun part.

Nice first try. You might want to put your lead further back in the mix. It is so loud I can barely hear the bt. If you record at too high a volume , you run into something called clipping. This happens when you record too loud. This means that the top of the signal is clipped so you get a buzzing muddy tone on the louder notes. Record at a lower volume or balance the volume of the tracks before the final mix down. Your recording software should have some kind of colour bar in the volume sliders. If your signal goes into the red then your clipping the signal. It is best to keep it in the green. I enjoyed your take. A little more experience with recording and you will be cooking.

Thanks!

I did fight with trying to get the guitar lower and the BT louder - but I'll try again. Recording is an art just as playing!

Ahhh, you guys take me back to a time when I would go sit at a place here in downtown Baton Rouge called Tabby's Blues Box, this old timer name Tabby Thomas owned the joint and man could he play some sweet blues....he can still play I guess but he would have to be in his mid 80's now I would guess. His place is still open but I don't know if he still plays or not. Anyway, he would have open mic night and anyone could bring their guitar and get up there and jam with him if they so desired. I can still hear him now, "Nobody leaves till they sing tha blues....or I'm ready to get the heck out of here, which ever comes first...." lol, crazy Blue's man. Has anyone else out there heard of Tabby Thomas? Just wondering how far his music reached out...? I've even seen Fats Domino and his girl Lucille play there a time or two. Those were the days

Thanks nocat...just one of those weird moments where I was thinking BB King and typed Fats, I knew losing all those brain cells would catch up with me one day! You can blame all the rock concerts I attended as a youth....
