Slow shuffle in C
Here's a good backing track to play over, thanks to 'Decca' from the PlaneTalkers' Forum who found it. It's a slow blues in the key of C, a fairly familiar sounding 12 bar progression. Here it is:
| C - - - | F7 - - - | C - - - | C - - - | F7 - - - | F7 - - - |
| C - Dm - | Em - D#m - | Dm - - - | F - F/G - | C - F - | C - G -|
... pretty standard except for those minor chords at bars 6 and 7. They're the fun part.

Garry, all the best to you and yours. Cancel 'Going to California', you'll now have to write a song called 'Staying in Ocean County'.

Garry, what a way to start my day! That's great news man, keep the magic alive.
My very best wishes to you and your lady.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, very thoughtful of you.
As for your latest offering, the blues doesn't come any better than that, I've got 25 gig of music on my pc, and that rates among the best.
Give Ruby a big kiss for me.

Couldn't find a more "genuine" group of "soul's" if ya paid me..
NOCAT: Seemed to hit it right off the bat with you man..(must be a Jersey Thing)..heart-felt thanks Ben..seriously. Mic? it landed where it did...yes I "marked" the spot.LOL....your alright man.
KIRK: What can I say? Respect? Admiration? Genuine Talent For "seeing" things from another "perspective"?..Thanks for being there.
I gotta tell ya somtehing..PlaneTalk..I mentioned in previous posts I've never had formal training, scratching up my albums, listening, watching , picking things up from others who played...that's me.Tried a few lessons..in one ear out the other..wanted to get home, pick that song apart, zero knowledge, insane determination, following week, music class,(duh, look what I can do), what about the lesson Garry?..it lasted about a month. I have my regrets. Back to PlaneTalk. I received it, gazed at the "images" "shapes"..thought I was gonna faint.
Yes, "shapes"..I'll leave it at that..yet you took it many many levels or "fathoms"" deeper. Thought I was nuts( that's beside the point), I "see" and "feel", can't explain it, never could, "shapes" was my answer. You're a brilliant man Kirk.
Really want to thank You and Clancy for being there, my heart tells me she's a wonderful woman, don't ever lose "sight" of that man(mate).
Gazza.....ya had me google on that one..searched Australian Slang Dictionaries..nothing...found anything from Gazza items on Ebay, to Nicknames of Australian athletes..yet No definition. That my friend intriques me...and I'll continue my search.
As far as "what can I say Kirk"...I'm gonna go with all of the above...thanks Kirk.
John: We had our run -ins, rubbed ya the wrong way..didn't mean to come off that way. Thanks for your support. honestly.
Allthumbs: DOHHHHHH.....your alright in my book!!..Heartfelt thanks to you.
Clancy: ummm....see above under Kirk...and my sincere thanks.
Si16: Wanna tell ya something Sid, you're the one responsible for breaking my index-thumb mess..I'm still working on it...I also have many "thoughts' where ink will meet paper. Thank you for your support and insight.
Nowhereman?...You've found a place in my heart my friend.I sincerely mean that Geoff.
I gave Ruby a "hug" along with a kiss for ya ...she felt the sincereity..your a good man Geoff..thanks for caring.
Garry...(Gazza)...I gotta find that...hey, My sincere "thanks" to ALL!!

Garry, thank you for your kind words, I am very moved.
Gazza is just the Australian affectionate version of Garry, it doesn't actually mean anything.
Aussies love to change word endings.
A word for something really good is 'Bonza', like your guitar playing is bonza.
Cheers mate.

You are "more" than welcome Geoff,
You put a stop to the insanity...seriously, couldn't find a definition "anywhere".
I'll take that as a compliment.....a "much too kind compliment"...thanks again, kinda like it actually...You guys are the best.

That's it Garry, for some odd reason, Aussies have this built-in nickname system, usually for names ending in 'y', uzing 'Z's. So Garry becomes Gazza, Terry becomes Tezza, Derek becomes Dezza, Larry becomes Lazza ... you can also drop the last 'a' off, so Gazz, Tezz, Lazz ... they could never do much with 'Kirk', but I have a friend called Doug who calls me Kirkles, so I have to call him Dougles.
Dave becomes Davo; John Johnno ... so you can see that sometimes the nicknames are longer than the real names!
They're a weird mob, these Aussies. They love their nicknames.

So... nocat would be like nocato...!?! Hmmm... I kinda like that, sounds like an exotic
musical term... "Let's take it from the top, and this time I want the rhythm to be more nocato...!!!" ... :o)

Better late than never!
I'm a few days behind you guys in giving this one a try - but here are two takes I did today. I just figured out how to get my Les Paul output from my effects box to go directly into my PC and then use a combo of media player and Goldwave to make these recordings. The curse of the recorder being on led to a clinker or two, but all in all I think I was able to mostly forget I was recording and I hope you all enjoy these attemps.
