Hello all, my name is Michael. I’m 33 years old. I have been teaching myself acoustic guitar for the past 3 years. My musical tastes really span the gamut from classical to metal. I’m not a big fan of country music but there is some of it that I enjoy, however for me, a little country goes a long way. The music I’m currently working on learning include a few Bach tunes, Bob Marley “Is this love,” Kiss “Beth,” and the Irish standards “Danny Boy” and “Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral {That’s An Irish Lullaby}” About a week and a half ago I ditched my picks. I would say that after being exposed to Kirk’s postings and his movie clips here, playing the guitar finger style sounds so much more expressive and alive. The fingers on my right hand are hurting, since my calluses haven’t been established yet. I’m certain it will have been worth it, in the long run.
