The idea about using a wound string is known to me. I tried it once but the fact that the string was too " floppy" and not rigid meant that I was not successful. However your reply has inspired me to have another go. I will superglue a short length of the string to the underside of something rigid and use it as a file. I have a set of old strings here which I can us.
