Your harp playing is great. I expanded my collection from a C to an A just yesterday but haven't done much practice with either one yet. You said 'cross harp' - are you doing that on this track? I read that it requires bending and I just can't get that....yet.

Your guitar playing is also fantastic, and putting the track together too - a great job. Are you playing bass guitar or is that software? And didn't Kenny do well!! Guitar and vox. It really rocks - got the thing stuck in my head.......

thanks Carol, I hadn't played one for some time..the occasional blow on someones else here and there bit. I used have a couple and they are great little instruments.actually I 'm wondering where the one I used on this has slinked of to?

Cross harp refers diatonic harps and what key your playing against, usually in blues. There are three positions.

Straight harp - played against the same chord or key as the harp
so your c harp over a c riff, chord or vamp

Crossed harp or second position is the most common for blues
You work out which key to play against by making the key of your harp the 4th interval.
or you can count up to the 5th from c to work out which key you play against.
so with the c harp you pay against a song in G

the third position gives a minor sound i think so the c harp would play against a A minor key.

i think you would need to bend in all of these styles, especially playing blues to get all the notes you need for that blues sound.

here's as couple of links that i had bookmarked that you might find useful.
Note Bending for Harmonica

Those are great links kidhiati and I've been trying out a few of the moves. No luck yet, but he says it took him 'quite a while' to bend it like.........I've forgotten the guy's name - aussie singer, of harp and jug band fame.

And great intro drums Kenny. I'm loving it too, what a great colab this is. Congrats everyone.

I should give credit to Robbieroy, Allthumbs and Karcey who inspired the lyrics from robbieroy's thread here

Hey Bob{SlickCat} after a few more times thru, I think your a tad too far forward in the mix, am I alone in this thought?

Thats definitely different Eddie, I'm split though...like the tone and playing, but not sure how it works in this...probably my lack of knowledge in general

Thats quite a thread Carol, should throw Allthumbs some inspiration kudo's as well for the 'Cliff hanger' bit, unless I missed it's origin somewhere else

I agree Slick is a little out front.
The bass run is a typical blues lick. But no offense if it does not work.
Just gave it a shot.

Hope I didn't come across wrong Eddie, it's the tone that threw me not what you played...LOL, chalk it up to a new listening experience for me.

Kenny,
NO not at all, nothing wrong here, actually I chose the tone to compliment the vocal.
