Hi hli ... no, trying out different feels is not time consuming. Once the mechanical side of playing is under control, then switching and experimenting is easy and natural.

PlaneTalk describes a very simple way of 'seeing' the fretboard as a whole, so that you can access the music, whether chords, double stops, harmony lines, melody ... it comes in especially handy if you want to improvise. It teaches a way of thinking about music and the guitar. You must, of course, practice a whole lot too.

I can pretty much guarantee it will be the best lesson you've ever learned.
