My guitar teacher's Squirish. A squirrely squire. Country picker, actually, grew up in Ottawa but born in Owen Sound.

There are two constants in the world. Math & Music. One I detest and only tolerate because I have to count my change now and then to be sure I didn't get, for lack of a better word, cheated.

I have never been cheated with music.

My Jones' are nigh on 400 years in these United States. But the rest of me? Well, lets just say Scot/Irish/Anglish (in that order) and Dutch/Franco/German with a pinch of Scandinavian which explains why I appreciate buxom blondes on calendars in auto parts houses and good beer. Of course, the dominate genes lean toward the Celtic end of things. I have never heard a bad bagpipe. And that may be because of the beer.

In the meantime I am an Ulster-Scot in the hills of Appalachia which is exactly as it should be.

My apologies for the dissertation and long winded way of saying I'm a hillbilly from the Great Commonwealth of Caintuckee.

Born and bred in the East end of London, UK. Father is Cockney, Mother is from the highlands of Scotland. Lived in more places over the last 35 years than I care to remember but always seem to end up coming back to Australia. They can't get rid of me. I just consider myself lucky that I can (usually) speak at all.

Cool   Sunny Glasgow?

Ricky:

My wife and I spent a week driving around Scotland a year and a half ago (would have preferred 3 weeks ). I think we saw the sun once or twice. Then again, we flew from Glasgow to Belfast and drove around Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland for a week and doubt we ever saw the sun.

Still, just kept finding good brews, good whisky and all seemed pretty sunny to me.

Loved the whole trip but can hardly wait to get back to Scotland.

Rick

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
