Hallelujah

I found the words on the Internet Monday evening and did a quick recording Tuesday evening. Forgive the clams, each part was a single take. I was anxious to hear it. I love this tune and I'm glad I finally got around to learning it. I'm playing in G, capoed at the third fret, so it's in Bb. It works good here for my voice.

Would that be cool...???

Sure, have at it. It wasn't my song to begin with. I was playing along with the recording last night and I decided I probably would not add another guitar part, but who knows? You might find something you like.

Man, I really hope I didn't screw this up for anyone...

This is what I came up with... I was learning the song as I was recording, so I messed
up in a couple of places...

Thanks for allowing me to do this Bob...!!!

Feel free to bash me if I took away the magic...

Nice job! I was a little worried, ,but it came out nice. The additional harmonies are nice. I would perhaps have added them in later, just to let it build a bit. The guitar is nice but I think you perhaps missed a change in each verse, in the middle on the line "Do ya?". I'm turing around to the 5 but it sounds like you stay on 1. Anyway, nice job! Its flattering that you would want to work with my simple recording.

Rockerbob,

It's often hard to express with words how much we are touched by a piece of music... I'm finding this to be true right now. Your recording gave me goose bumps... You really do have great talent and we are privileged to have you here sharing it with us.

I agree totally with allthumbs, you definitely have the magic.

Thank you.

Clancy

When Shrek came out I took my son to see it and he loved it! Then his mum bought him the soundtrack cd to the movie and he wore it out playing it.

Now I play him your version of it Rockerbob, and he wanted it played over and over 'cause he just loves it. You've got another fan here Rockerbob, that's for sure.

For what? I think you did a fine job and you certainly had fun doing it. That's what we're here for.

Thanks to all for the kind words! I still give all the credit to the wonderful song. It's hard to go wrong when the material is SO good.

Absolutely awesome, Rockerbob.

A beautiful song, beautifully performed.

Is there any chance someone out there could post the chords and/or tabs to this song? I've started trying to figure it out myself, but I suck at transcribing by ear!
